Gastric Balloon

Gastric Balloon

A gastric balloon is a silicone balloon that is inflated with air or liquid after it is placed in the stomach. It is a temporary weight loss method applied endoscopically in patients who cannot lose weight with diet and exercise, do not want to have surgery or have a high risk of surgery. The gastric balloon should be removed 6 months – 1 year after it is placed. It helps in portioning meals and reducing the frequency of eating. It also helps you lose weight by eliminating the habit of snacking. In addition, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, gout and cholesterol/triglyceride levels were significantly decreased after the application.

The Process:

The balloon is placed in the stomach by endoscopic method under general anesthesia. It is then inflated with serum. The average processing time is 30 minutes. The patient can go home shortly after waking up.
