Hair transplantation is the process of planting hair follicles in areas with hair loss due to various reasons.
Hair transplantation is the process of taking the hair follicles, called “graft”, one by one from the back of the head, called “donor area”, with special tools called micro motor and punch. Afterwards the grafts taken from the donor area are kept in special liquid, and placed in the channels opened in the area where hair loss is observed, using special surgical materials.
Since local anesthesia is applied in hair transplantation, the patient does not feel any pain. Between 5000 and 7000 grafts (hair follicles) can be taken from the patients. This number varies from person to person, and the nape part, which we call the donor area, is very important and significant. Hair transplantation can be done to anyone between the ages of 18 and 65. The process takes an average of 5-7 hours. Hair transplantation should be performed in hospital environment and after the necessary analyses are made by specialists. More than one session can be performed in hair transplantation, if needed.
